exchange 2003 – user unable to receive outside mail

A friend has exchange 2003, he added a new user and they can send/receive email internally and send email outside but is unable to receive email from the outside. I looked and see the smtp and other entry in the email defines. I’ve never used exchange 2003 so anybody got any ideas I can tell him to look at?

Exchange 2003 is generating a 5.1.0 error when sending email to a known good address. The email is a reply to the sender who sent an email to me. How can I fix this and is it an indication of bigger issues?

Hello, I would like to ask a question about a problem i had recently on exchange. I tried to log in to exchange in my company through blackberry in my account with my username and password but the emails that i see is from the general account of the company. For example. The company has the info@mycompcany.com and i have someone@mycompany.com So i tried to connect with the account of someone in pop3 and with imap. both cases i see the emails of info. Any ideas?

From my Droid I am getting an “Unable to open connection to server.” error every time I try to get mail. The other sub-folders open fine and have no issues. I can send mail internally and externally. That means I am connecting but can not see my Inbox. Exchange 2003. Help!

Trouble masking email address in Exchange 2003

We have our headquarter running our emails offsite. (Not with Exchange) with UserID@company.com

Our site has Exchange 2003 handling our emails with UserID@email.site.company.com

We are trying to mask our email address and unify it with the company address. I do it by setting the primary SMTP address to UserID@company.com in the Exchange user config. Keep the UserID@email.site.company.com as a (non-primary) SMTP address.

It works with all the employees in our site. However, I’ll get the following error when I send email to people in headquarter, whom do not have an account on our Exchange server.

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: Test 7-1-2010

Sent: 7/1/2010 10:11 AM

The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:

‘John Smith’ on 7/1/2010 10:07 AM
