  • ESX Hardware configuration

I am interested in bringing up an ESX Server to learn more. I have tried the Evals and am now willing to purchase the product. I have no need to purchase high-end hardware as there will be very few users. Does anyone have a specific hardware list (m/b model, etc)? Thanks in advance

  • Adding an additional network card is causing problem in the virtual environment

We are trying to add an additional virtual network card to an existing solaris 10 environment. But after we add this, all (4) existing virtual network cards in the solaris environment are 'lost'. We are using ESX v7 Has anyone seen this or something similar?

  • Checking for the server a ESX 3.5 Guest is running on?

When I'm on an ESX 3.5 guest, is there a way to find out which ESX server it is running on? I don't have access to the ESX host to do it the other way around via command line.

  • Reconnecting data store to reload of ESX

My ESX server died due to hw failure. My data store resides on a seperate RAID5 set and I need to reconnect the datastore to my new ESX load. How can I do this without destroying the data in my disconnected /vmfs datastore?
