Greetings, we have a single mail domain with two mail hosting providers and two ISPs. We set it up this way so that if an ISP or Mail provider has issues we can fail over to the other. We use a sonicwall for this function.
Users have OE6 clients with two accounts configured with the same email address but different smtp & pop settings.
Occasionally we send mail out and it is not received but we get no failure notice. If the user switches to the other account and sends to the same recipient they may receive it fine.
At first we thought we were going into a spam bucket on the recipients end but other users here can send to the same recipients fine while others experience the lost mail issue.
We additionally discovered that mail sent through the web based user accounts that fail from the clients go through fine.
Any thoughts?

My favorite is ‘sendEmail’ which I use in batch files and ‘.exe’s’ to retrieve logs and files from my client’s computers when trouble shooting their software.

What I cannot find is a way to check email or receive notices through a command line utility. I would like to have a way to at least check a designated inbox or even receive notice of an incoming email.

Any ideas on how this can be done?

I have a weird problem with one email account (mine) that I feel is exchange related and not client related. When I receive new emails the system marks them as read after about 4 minutes. This happens on the server because all new emails older than 4 or so minutes are already marked as read when I open the client. I have NO rules set, No options set (tools >options >other >reading pane) and I have the reading pane turned Off. I’ve blown away my Outlook profile, Outlook client, Office 2007 suite and reloaded – still the same problem. I’ve used another pc and same results. I do have a mobile device but it has been completly powered Off since this started yesterday morning. If I log onto OWA the same issue is there. Anyone else seen this?

I am using exchange 2003
Outlook 2003 in exchange mode.

A few weeks ago we had a hard drive crash and had to repair our exchange database because it corrupted. We did a data repair of the datafile, not a backup recovery.

Now I have one user who has one email that she cannot delete!
She is a “clean” inbox freak so its driving her nuts, and thus she drives me nuts.

when she attempts to delete she gets the error message

“The item could not be deleted. It was either moved or already deleted, or access was denied”

I have tried the following

1. Outlook is not in chached mode.
2. attempted to delete in OWA
3. attempted to move file first
4. attemped to delete it with a group of other messages.

Now I am stuck, I cannot find a way to get rid of this email?
Is there a way to delete a single message directly from the exchange server?

Thanks
