EDI mapping orders

I have to write a EDi orders for Tradanet. The input file is in varable length text fields seperated by ‘+’ & ‘:’

Does anyone have a best method for writting this.

Currently, I’m running EXTOL Integrator on our AS/400 for our EDI solution, and we are using BPCS 6.0.2 along with the ECM File Adapters to tie in all data throughout the system. Has anyone had any experience with this? I’m looking to figure out how to structure the ECM files properly so that we get the correct output for our Outbound EDI Invoice.

how long should an average EDI (xi) map take to develop

I am working with a new vendor and I would like to know how long it should take to develop, on average, EDI maps in XI. I am experienced with other EDI mapping technologies and ETL mapping tools. However, I have not worked with XI before and I would like to know why it seems to take significantly longer than expected to create an EDI map (inbound or outbound) using XI and seeburger.

FTP AS400 RECEIVING EDI FILE

ON MY AS400 VER 4.5 I AM RECEIVING THRU FTP A EDI FILE FROM A PC BASED SYSTEM
BUT THE DATA COMES IN AS ONE LONG RECORD.

SFTP and sending a file from the 400 to a unix system

I have set SFTP with EDS*elit VAN to exchange EDI. I can get the files no problem, but when I put the data on to their server (unix), they canno read the file. I am tried using CVTTOSTMF and CPUTOSTMF to get the data to the IFS and issue a put command. The files I get from them show up as CCSID 819 on the IFS so I created the file that I send the same way. They said they need a std ascii file. I tried that with the cpytostmf cmd but still they cannot read the file. any ideas on what could be going on will be of great help. I have been trying to the file to go through all week.

Outbound EDI Invoice to Customer

Trying to set up EDI 810 invoice to customer. I believe that i have all the settings correct but i cannot get the IDOC to be created automatically. I must be missing a step. I have the partner outbound set up with the INVOIC and INVOIC02. Do i need to set up conditions that tell SAP to create an invoice for paticular customers or do all customers that have a partner setup for outbaound get invoices. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDI – Required Fields and Elements

EDI transactions have required and situational/optional segments. Within a required segment you may have required and situational/optional elements. My question is, do all values within a required element must be implemented/used or is it possible to use some (but not all) values within that required element?
