Domain Profiles

Is there an easy way to revert a user from domain login with roaming profile/offline files back to local profile on the PC?

I have a Windows 2003 network with XP clients (SP2 and a few SP3). I was asked last spring (08) to migrate users from local profiles to a domain (roaming?) profile using offline files to mantain synchronization to the network. Now the higher up has one person bending his ear with how he liked...
