Can the Exchange ISP domain name and local domain name be the same?

Add a child dc to a domain, error is “ A DOMAIN CONROLLER WITH SPECIFIED NAME ALREADY EXISTS“
I am attempting to join a child dc to a dc, and keep recieving the error message in the subject. When I am running dcpromo in the child domain setup it allows everything right up until it starts to write active directory into the new child domain. Then it runs the error message. Thanks

We have 8 different domain/forests around the world. We now want to put all those 8 domain into a new world wide domain where our Exchange 2007 is setup. I think the best way is to import those 8 domains into the new domain as a multiple forests so all domains has there own forests [...]
