I have recently purchased a second hand memorex CD writer and although it looks in fine order and will play discs I cannot get it to copy/write/or burn discs. It is connected to my PC with a USB - Do I need a driver? or something. If so how do I go about this. Can anyone help please?

Will defragmenting hard disks improve SQL Server performance?
Does it help to defragment the local hard disks on SQL Server to improve performance? I just started a new position and the drives on the servers are very fragmented. Could defragmenting them help boost some performance? Thanks.

My as400 is showing a status of 'degraded' when doing a 'wrkdsksts'. I would assume that one of the disk has failed but all say operational when using display hardware resources. Help!

I have 25 4319 10k 35gb disk drives in a closet my management would like to have added to the existing iSeries. My question is if I replace FC#4318 10k 17gb drives with FX#4319 10k 35gb drives will performance degrade? How or where can I find the seek times, MTBF numbers etc to compare performance?
