What is the difference between full, incremental and differential backups? Our computer is situated in the parish office, and contains confidential information such as a parishioner database and parish accounts. We have purchased a separate hard drive to back up our data, and are keeping it in the safe when it is not being used. We have made a full back up, but would like to know what kind of back up we should make from now on.

i have setup the following schedule setup in Backup Exec 10d

Monday Full – Backup files Using Archive Bit (reset Archive Bit)

Tue Differential – Back Up changed files since last full – Using archive bit( does not reset archive bit)

Wed Differential – Back Up changed files since last full – Using archive bit( does not reset archive bit)

Thur Differential – Back Up changed files since last full – Using archive bit( does not reset archive bit)

Frid Differential – Back Up changed files since last full – Using archive bit( does not reset archive bit)

Saturday Differential – Back Up changed files since last full – Using archive bit( does not reset archive bit)

Monthly Full – Backup files Using Archive Bit (reset Archive Bit)

I have the option

When this job begins – Overwrite Media

When i go to the restore tab and try to do a restore i dont see the monday date just the differential date of tuesday day.

what am i doing wrong?
