I am a developer/tester and want to regression test some crystal reports that are generated as excel and rich text. The reports have the date run in the header so I want to exclude that. Any suggestions?

How do you write a regression testing? There is a running system but the system needs to be updated. Some of the updates are creating a web base system that can be accessed anytime and documents can be viewed up to one year old and doesn’t take long to bring the saved documents up. I was needing help in how to do the regression testing.

Hello,
Could you guys recommend me a qa tool for automated regression/functional testing (open source or free tools are preferred) for testing a web application that contains a lot of javascript for opening pop-up windows, redirects etc.
I’m using HTTPUnit ans Selenium but these tools are not handling well pop-up windows and redirects.

Does a framework upgrade means a possible re-coding the software and therefore do we have to do a significant amount of regression testing in all the functions?
