Control-M is not correctly executing porcess chains in SAP BI
Hi Diana, As you say it worked for 3 days and then you get the error again – to me it seems like a connection issue between agent and application. I know that UC4′s Agent for SAP can handle those dependencies between BI chains and can also do postprocessing and child-tracking for the chain (as [...]

What is router-on-a-stick configuration?
Many times we run into situations when we need to have different VLANs on a single Ethernet port. So you have a wire (or port on a router/switch) on which packets travel for two or more different networks but are not able to talk to each other. To make them talk to each other, you [...]

Do I need to use QoS for full and half-duplex network configurations?
With only 4 ports for voice, it may work fine without QoS set, but the general recommendation is that you have a Layer 3 (L3) switch. Even without QoS you can put voice and data on separate subnets. Without knowing the amount of traffic passed for data or voice, it is hard to say. But [...]

A patch cable (also called a straight through cable) is configured with all 8 wires in the same order on both ends of the cable. There are two standard wiring configurations used for patch cables. They are 568A and 568B. Either configuration can be used, so long as the same configuration is used at both [...]

How to make a batch job run faster (excpet for the run priorty), Code changes?
One thing you might want to look at would be the access path you are using. For example, if you are reading a non keyed physical file, you might get better performance if you read a keyed logical or used some embedded SQL to retrieve your data set.

You need to decide the criteria you will choose for the location. An outside wall, as you say, makes it easier for the air-conditioning, ground floor makes it easier to install equipment, as you don’t need to carry it upstairs, and central is easiest for the cabling. You also need to consider the security. Dependant [...]

How to improve cooling efficiency of server rooms without cold-aisle/hot-aisle arrangement?
Kai, To improve the cooling effciency you must stop the hot and cold air from mixing. The only way to do this is by designing hot and cold aisle and putting blank plates in the unused space in your racks. This way the cold air is pulled through the servers by their internal fans. . [...]

Server Rack best practices
