How do you change the status of IP address in iSeries from ACTIVE to INACTIVE after performing IPL? I need to know the procedure on doing this because In our scheduled DRP testing activity, there’s a part in that activity where i have to configure an existing Production IP address for Deactivation and Activate a DRP ip address then perform an IPL. Base on previous experience, after the IPL the changes done on the Production and DRP IP address don’t take effect. Prod IP address is still ACTIVE while DPR IP address is INACTIVE. How do you do the configuration that after the IPL is performed, the changes applied prior to the IPL takes effect? Thanks.

I have 2 System i 570 connected to 2 x DS8100 in 2 different locations and replicating with PPRC.
No internal disks, IPL from SAN.

We will run a switch test : stop production server, end PPRC and start backup server on the “PPRC copy” (more steps indeed).

Does anyone has information about the action to be performed during the first manual IPL when IPLing from the “copy”.
I think they must be some disk problems to aknowledge because of differents serial numbers but I don’t find any specific info on IBM support’s web site.

Thanks
