Problems with AFP respool in mapping program redpaper Infoprint server/Psf

We work with the mapping program of the Ibm redpaper Printing VII. Everything works without problems (creating PDF and respool PDF) except the AFP respool does not work. We get no error messages en there are no joblogs. The AFPOUTQ keeps empty.

Who can help us please with this problem.

We currently use software to control IPDS generated printer files and route to a windows printer. I am hoping we can get rid of this if we upgrade to use Infoprint server feature. Our main driver is that IPDS output needs to go straight to a windows printer. I see from the IBM red book that the print transform should do this but I need to be sure that this works for IPDS generated output sent to a regular windows printer. Can anyone offer any advice? The printing should be automatic so when the print is generated it goes direct and no one has to move files from one queue to another.

Hello Printing Gurus,

Hopefully someone has some experience of this. My infoprint server saga continues. I am using infoprint server to covert to PDF as I am bringing in images with the AFPRSC keyword. That works well. What I have determined thanks to the good folks here is that the infoprint 1140 cannot print a native PDF stream. So I thought i would use the transform manager to convert the PDF back to AFP. I can print printer files of type AFPDS from the 400 but my tranform manager does not seem to be able to print my PDF transforms. Do my settings need tweeking or i am in the same boat as the PDF in that i need a printer that can print raw AFP which I suspect.

Hi Folks,

Hopefully someone can help me.

I am trying to implement the infoprint server to convert to PDF bring in a dynamic image with the AFPRSC and print to an infoprint printer.

The conversion works nice and I can see the PDF in the IFS and it brings in the images in nicely however when I send it to the printer it is just printing a mess of characters

ie %ICDS2PDF Version 1 Revision 21 %IBMPSC100 \@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

etc etc

The spool file is type *USERASCII should this be able to print to an infoprint?

I have tried to repsool the file as an AFS but my dynamic images do not come in.

Any help appreciated

Looking for a mapping program to segment invoices

I’m not familiar with RPG ILE and can’t quite follow the example in the Infoprint Server Manual but I want to accomplish the exact same thing as the example. Take an Invoice run and segment by customer and email some of the invoices, print others, and be able to archive the files in customer directories with individual file names like CustNo+InvNo+Date.

Does anyone have a program that they are willing to give away or sell?

I have invoices and pay stubs being converted to PDF and then emailing them to multiple users but that’s without any user exit programs or routing tags.

i got a Infoprint server i will like to auto install all the printers on windows machine’s i have.
what is the best way to do so and is there a tool to make it happen ?

we run v5r2 and have various PDF writers that e-mail reports to users in another state. Due to SOX compliance we need to now set up a system where these reports are secure (encrypted) unfortunately, Infoprint for V5R2 does not offer encryption only v5r4 or higher. We cannot upgrade our OS at this time so I am looking for a solution to encrypt these reports and send them to the users. We were also thinking is there a way to take these PDF reports and ftp them to a server or on the network?

have got spool file to pdf working using infoprint, stored in IFS and sent as email. Does anyone have example of mapping object so change directory path and name of pdf file when stored in ifs?
System uses job name etc. which will be variable. Thanks
