How do i set up a report where a user would run it for a current month or any date range but the YTD information is still included? Does it have to be done through a subreport?

I created a report with crystal 7 and I using the select expert  for a particular field/table. When I use the expert the drop drown menu does show me every thing in the table. Is there a limit to how many choices the drop menu can show?
