Hi,
We have an I5 V5R4M0 and a lot of outqueues set up for printing and some of the printers, regardless the writer brand prints really small fonts no matter if it is portrait or landscape
I have tried a lot and now I am trying to figure out how to change a WSCST (*hp4) to print with larger fonts.
Is there anyway of changing just so that the font get larger with changing a WSCST?
I really really would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

Hello,

I am on a model 720 iSeries V4.4 OS and am attempting to create a remote output queue to print to an HP1022n laserjet printer currently attached to our network. At this level of the operating system (V4.4), that particular HP printer is not listed under the Manufacturer Type and Model parameter of the CRTOUTQ command. I’ve tried HP4, and HP4000 and they have not worked. I can start the writer and ping the IP address successfully. However, when I release a spool file to print, it just sits in the Outq in SND mode but never prints…

I’m thinking this is related to either the Manufacturer Type and Model parameter or it may be related to the Remote Printer Queue parameter. Generally, I see *HP4 being used for Manufacturer Type and Model on other remote output queues that have HP printers attached and ‘XAUTOQ’ is used for the Destination Option parameter. For the Remote Printer Queue parameter I see ‘TEXT’ commonly used but for some reason these values are not working for this HP1022n printer…

Is there a place where I can get a published listing of these parameters for various printer manufacturers? Does each manufacturer have their own specific set of values for each of these parameters? When I spoke to a representative at HP, they didn’t have a clue as to what I was talking about… I don’t have Software Support from IBM – only Hardware Support.

Thanks and best regards!
