I’m seeing a lot of outdiscard errors on a port, but bandwidth used is not excessive , speed and duplex are 1000 full. I can’t see what could be causing the problem. There are no other errors on the port to point to cable issue etc – any idea what could be causing it?

Making a virtual NAS out of a server

I have a I couple of rackmount servers that have Raid f drives set up and running ESXi 4.1 I am trying not to purchase a NAS as this is a pretty small scale project. Anyone have experience using a software solution to make the DAS drives in the servers look like a NAS that both server can see. I was thinking I could run a Storage management SW in a VM on each server the use virtualized storage plugin to allow all the storage to look contigous. Any suggestions?

I’ve tried configuring a router for a network with 98 hosts. I’m using Network Visualiser 4.0 by Routersim. But I’m not getting it done at all. Is there any ither means, methods, techniques in configuring routers for such office building network.

Or any suggestions on how to configure and deploy the network?

I have a cisco 3560G and 2911 series router.The Router has 2 internet interface.One is already configured to an unmanaged switch.The second interface is also configure and it can go to the internet.My task is to configure vlans on the switch and the vlans should communicate with each others.Also each of the vlans should have internet access.using the second interface on the router.Can someone help me with step to step how to do it.I’m new to vlan and inter-routing.Thanks.

Because, since i have switch cisco the bandwith decrease for image deploy.

The bandwith very slow ?.
