Hi everyone,

Im setting this up for a church and well stright to the point…..
I am trying to set up 2 SSID’s on the AP both on diffrent VLANS

I have a cisco 1700 router connected to the switch(FS726T) and have VLANs configured already on both the router and switch. (They work)

On the switch I have in port (one) the connects to the cisco router set to tagged and the other ports set to untagged.

On Switch:
i.e. port 26 tagged (connects to router) – port 1,2,3,4,5 untagged (PC side) — VLAN 2

port 26 tagged (connects to router) – port 6,7,8,9,10 untagged (PC side) — VLAN 3

Now I set up the two wireless SSID’s
1. – office_wireless
// 2. – public_wireless not set up AT THIS POINT!

AP ip address: 192.168.4.254 – (cisco router is the dhcp) (IP is set to static)
cisco ip address: 192.168.4.1 – (the .4 is for VLAN 4)

This workes fine BEFORE I select the tick box on the AP homepage that says “Enable 802.1Q VLAN”

I enable the vlan and set SSID office_wireless to vlan 4
somthing about managment vlan id there (no idea what is) but its set to 1 (I also tryed 4 didn’t work)

Then I am dissconnected from the office_wireless and dont get an ip address Issues to me.

I proceed to plug th AP directly into the cisco router and it works.
the wireless pc gets an ip address and connects to the net. But not the AP annymore.

Leaving me to manualy resset the AP to try again.

PLEASE PLEASE HELP!
I have tryed everything I know..,…

Kindest Regards
David

This is regarding the Cisco 1700 series router, which has been configured by some other experts. We are now having a lease line and the Cisco router connected with Cyberoam box.

Earlier we had an ADSL connection, so I had direct IP where there was no need to logging into Cyberoam everytime. But this time when I asked the person who has configured the Cisco, he was saying that its impossible because the Cisco has got only one Ethernet port that is directly connected to Cyberoam.

So whatever IP the DHCP releasing will be from Cyberoam only – and there will be no direct IP. Anyhow, you need to log in through Cyberoam. And one more thing – Cisco doesn’t have GUI for configuration, just command line interface. Thank you.

Dear Sir,

I have one cisco 1700 series router with 2T WAN interface card, currently we using only one WAN interface point to point link, speed 1 mbps. I have one 2 mbps RF link witch is directly terminate on LAN switch and router’s fastethernet is also connecting the same switch, both link use for data. If one link goes down we have to change ip addresses of the pcs manually.
My question is that can I connect this RF link to second WAN port of cisco 1700 router and do the routing? So if one link goes down no need to change ip address of pc.
Point to point leased line link and RF link each are of different service providers

Hi,

I am serving as a system admin for an organization. We have ISA 2004 network, with Exchange 2003 Standard edition server, 2 Microsoft SQL server 2005 Standard edition for database projects, Windows 2003 domain controller in two sites A and B using active directory services. These two sites are VPN tunneled between ISA 2004 Enterprise Edition and SonicWall Tz170. We at Site A have 2 MBPS 1:1 T1 internet connection in our site. Sometime back, we had applied for one more internet connection of speed 2 MBPS 1:4 Broadband from some other provider. After much research , we had opted and ordered for PEPLINK 300 router to support load balancing and failover of internet between Cisco 1700 series Router, Peplink 300 Router and ISA 2004 enterprise edition server with two NIC cards of which one is configured externally and the other internally. But to our dismay, after introducing Peplink 300 router, internet became slow at times and many users started complaining about slow speeds. So I disconnected the other internet line keeping aside PEPLINK router 300. Our mail system is configured in such a way that it happens through VPN connectionbetween our two sites.

As a system admin, I have given the task of residning the entire network of whatever be the upgradations. Our main task is to have
1.) Good Internet speeds from more than one providers to have load balancing and failover capabilities so that our network is always hokked to net.
2.) Good VPN speeds between two locations.
3.) Good Email System and Communication.
4.) Site to site interconnectivity to access the Remote systems through RDP, FTP etc.,

I just know about the requirement to redesign using the above parameters.

Can you please guide me?

Regards
Sanjay
