I just took over the Hyperion Desktop administration in the last few months. I am still learning the systems and studios to function appropriatley with Hyperion products. I have been working with IT on data transition information, but we have both come to a dead end with this problem. Whenever I move a child entity to a parent location, or even to another location to continue as a child. All previous data duplicate, It stays in the child member and moves to the new parent. I am not sure what link is not appropriatley updating. Does anyone have any insite on this. Right now all the companies Financial Information in 07 is skewed with these duplicates. I appreciate any help you can give.

Hello,
I am trying to configure folder redirection. I want to redirect My docs and Desktop folders for just two users.I have configured the group policy for the domain under active directory users and computers. I have configured the two folders to be redirected to a shared folder on the network. I have made sure that the shared folder has all the permission (essentially it has no permissions anyone can do anything), but still the profiles dont seem to be redirected. I havent missed out a single step that has been mentioned on most of the tutorials i found online. Can someone please suggest where i may have gone wrong. To me it seems like a common mistake as i have seen similar problems with people online but no one seems to hav an answer. Please let me know if anyone knows whats happening.
Thanks.

We are moving from a Win NT server and Win NT Workstation environment that use Win NT roaming profiles to something new. The roaming profiles have come in handy since 1) some folks work in several areas, and 2) the mfg shop floor folks use whatever PC they can find that is unused at the time. We are considering some type architecture/strategy that 1) creates a safe user computing environment, and 2) requires minimal maintenance/patching/support at the PC end. So we’ve looked at numerous products such as sandboxes, thin terminal or Citrix sessions, streaming operating system, diskless PCs, virtual PC/server, etc. In order to help finalize the strategy, we need to learn more about Windows roaming profiles in a Win 2003 Server and Win XP Pro workstation environment. So do roaming profiles exist in the latest Windows products, and how do they work? Or are there other ways to achieve similar functionality (is the roaming profile concept dying)? What are some good resources to learn more about user profiles and roaming profiles, and what they can and cannot do? Many of the ideas above may not work depending on how the user’s profile works and where software applications get installed (local C: drive, registry, server, etc), so we are looking for info to help make these decisions. Thanks!

We need to be able to configure the Cisco 1700 series router and the Windows 2000 clients at the site with the new T1 Internet circuit, so that all clients use the dedicated T1 for Internet access, but still come back to HQ for seerver access. We have dedicated point to point T1′s at all of our remote sites coming back to HQ and use a private network (10.x.x.x) addressing scheme. Thanks for your assistance.
