As far as I know once you complete all steps pertaining to the audit process you have certified your company for SAS70. As far as how often you perform the audit, that may depend on your customers’ requirements or other certifications. We perform a SAS70 type II every year.

The best and most complete approach would be to run port scanner such as nmap which will probe the ports you tell it to and then inform you of what services are running on servers.
