CHGPF doesn’t change the based on LFs
I used the CHGPF command to change the record layout of a Physical File but the based on Logical Files were NOT changed – the Format Level Identifier still had the old value.

CHGPF error in Iseries v5r4
The CHGPF command is giving error when used to change the CCSID from 37 to 285 in a pf in iseriee V5R4. The files are empty but it is showing the error as ” Error occured during the update of physical file PFILEA in library LIBA using source file located in library LIBINST..”

I need add a field in existing Physical file without imacting any thing file? i know CHGPF command but i am not sure about which parameter needs to be update… Please advice…
