Hi, I am currently working as Business Objects developer having around 3+ years experience and overall 7 years in IT with good db skills.

I am planning to pursue as an independent consultant and dont know where to start with.

I dont have any BO certification at present. I would also like to know the market rates for independent BO consultants?

Please advice if its a right choice to step now.

What are the BOE license requirements (if any) for the BOE repositiory (System & Audit repository) if it is located on a separate server that the BOE server?
(Note: The server is licensed appropriately as a MS SQL database.)

Business Objects XI and Microsoft Office 2002

Hi.
On some different pc I have MS Office 2002 and BOE XI.
After a couple of time (usually after a system update) something goes wrong.
Example: I create a document on Excel, like a graph. I copy the graph on a Powerpoint sheet or a Word page, then when I try to modify the data with a double clik on the pasted section the BOE setup starts.
This block the user activities, and I must uninstall/reinstall Office and BOE.
The first thing that I think is that both the softwares use common files, and during the update of the MS platform something goes wrong.
Does anybody here know the problem and has a solution?

Business Objects 12 and wrong language

Hi.
In the office we use Business Objects 12. When I launch the setup I choose the local (italian) language – over the english, that is default loaded.
Sometimes I encounter a strange trouble: without any clear reason some computers load the english language only. The system platform is common (Windows XP SP3), regional settings is common too (italian).
Somebody told me that the trouble appears if I launch the setup from a remote share – but I’m using the same location to execute the setup.
Do you have any idea regarding this strangeness?
