crystal reports and access 2002 issue

can Crystal Reports 9 access data originally created with MS Access 2000 (successfully), be used in MS Access 2002. Getting error code 0xc28, no read permission. MS Access application had been recently updated.  Read permissions on access data file are correct, and have not been changed since using earlier version of MS Access.
