Can we restore a backup from a Brightstor 12 server without the database? What would be the procedure for that?
What is the best practice when it comes to backing up an Exchange server, message stores and all, to a tape drive? Is NTbackup sufficient or should we look at backup exec or brightstore?
We have a failed brightstor 12 server. I can recover the files from the hard drive but the server is dead. We will be rebuilding a new one. Can I recover the database files and import them? And if so where are they located?
Can we set brightstore to automatically erase a backup tape that is in the drive if there is data on it prior to stating the backup process?
We are running BrightStore for backup purposes and currently it is hosted on its own server. What is necessary to migrate it to a VM? The VM will need to have access to the SCSI controller card for it needs to access the LTO3 tape drive that is connected to it.

After cleaning my LTO3 tape drive with a cleaning tape it will not recognize my old tapes., It seems to write to new ones without an issue but the old ones with data are showing up as UNKNOWN.
