I am a basis consultant with 2 years of experience. I want to take my career further as I am very much inclined towards learning new technologies.
I am confused which one of the following would have better prospects for future.
BI Technical Consultant or Netweaver Technology consultant.
Which one would be better cause later I am planning to take up a PMP certification for project management.
with BI Technical consultant I can later become a Techno/function.
And with NW I can become NW architect or Solution/application consultant.
I believe BI is red hot right now but again it will restrict me to one module in NW.
NW consultant has wide range and will always be in demand.
Correct me if I am wrong also please put light which option will be better form management prospects in future.

Hi,
I will complete my Masters in CS in a few days from now. I am very much fascinated by the field of SAP. Since I have a bit of technical knowledge, I decided to go into SAP Basis. Also, I usually avoid programming. So I was suggested that the technical side of SAP which matches my interests would be BASIS. But I have read on a website that BASIS would not be in demand for long. So that is giving me second thoughts. Do you guys suggest any other module in SAP that I should consider and you think that would be both financially rewarding and would stick around for a few more years to come other than ABAP?

Should I also consider other functional modules? I am confused.

Please help.

Hello SAP BASIS GURUS.

In Production System I have set the parameter: rdisp/gui_auto_logout to
900 seconds (it means 15 minutes).

As I understand the Abap Dispatcher is sending Autologof Messages to SAP GUI.

Is it possible to setup a Customer PoPup Message one minute before the Abap Dispatcher autologoff inactive
users ?

I was trying the parameters:
rdisp/keepalive_timeout
rdisp/keepalive

but there is no information regarding our requirement.

eec6 & bw internal hard drive

I have a preinstaled standalone educational ecc6 together with BW in an internal hard drive. After login onto ms server 2003, both the BW and the ECC6 servers are present in the Sap Systems on the SAPMMC. When I logged in again after shutting down, the EEC6 server is not displaying at console root.

The error message that comes up at start is as follows
Atleast 1 service/driver failed during start up. Use evnt viewer to examine the logs for details

How can I get the ECC6 back and running.

Hardware upgrade

We are in the planning stages of upgrading our SAP ECC 5.0 landscape (hardware and OS Only) and are trying to come up with the best way to build the new servers. The issue we are trying to over come is how to build the new servers with the same names and IPs while still running our existing servers.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
