DB backup is hung

What are the different ways to know if DB backup & archive log backup process have hung. How can we know the average run time of db backup & archive log backup ? What are the advisable checks to be performed / steps to be taken if we observe the backup is slow (determined by average) or has hung.

Disk failed in RAID 5 Dell Poweredge 4400 can i create new container

I have a server Dell Poweredge 4400. Windows 2000 server running a RAID 5 with 4 disks. One of the disks has failed due to a container being deleted. If I create a new container and put the remaining 3 drives in it will I lose the data on them? Any suggestions for a proper recovery/rebuild?

How to backup a SQL Server on a different Domain.

We have just upgraded our admin server, which has an SQL database running on it. This server is also on a different domain from the backup server, which is running Backup Exec 12. Has anyone got any ideas on how we can connect to this server from the backup server that is on a different domain ?

Backup Exec Not Reading full Capacity of Media

I have not been able to backup in over two weeks because of an issue with Backup Exec not accepting my media... These are 400GB tapes and it is limiting them to 196GB. Is there any reason for this? As it is, we backup over 250GB a night (and growing). Eventually even the 400GB tapes are not...
