I am currently investigating sites within AD. The configuration which I am looking at doing is having two DC within the main site (top of the tree) and one DC in the new site created. If for some reason with the new site the DC server goes down will the clients still be able to login using the DC in the main tree. Also in order to create a new site does it have to be a new subnet or can it be within the same subnet as the main site

Hey guys,

I am deploying a network for a business, here is the plan

There are 3 sites A,B,C

site A: 43 clients, all the servers are in a rack in the basement
site B: 20 clients
site C: 20 clients

i want AD fcourse but i’m wondering if it is possible to use site A domain controller as PDC, and put a BDC on site B,C

so if site A is down users can still log-on to domain, and if either site B or C is down, then site A can still work because of dc on B,C (all trough vpn)

network drawing included

If you see any improvements i would like to know, (failover is important)

Money is not really an issue, but not over the top
