I know all too well about Level Check in an RPG. Today we had a CLP (doing SNDRCV of a screen file)get this error. Is this something new or merely so rare to get this in a CLP? I recompiled and all seems well, so certainly no urgent problem. V6R1.

AS400 menu options help creation

It is DSPF with subfile that includes: Option# (up to 999, alpha-numeric) and option description(up to 30 chars.). Some options can start the other menu (nested). Thank you.

I am using rpgfree format program.

Begsr M;                                                                     Setll (TRN) file1;

  Reade (TRN)file1;         Dow Not %Eof(file1);

existing functinality running..

      Reade (Trn) file1;     Enddo;                                                                    Endsr;

after dow loop i am inserting one chain condition if record found then contro to go reade(trn) file1; and read next record (not toucch the existin functionality). if not found read existing functionality and read next record as usuall.

I tried goto statment but it’s not allowing in free format. could you advise how to come over.

Compilation issue in AS400

Hi, I had an issue in Compiling my Files/Programs. When i compile my Files/programs interactively , I am not able to See my Spool file.Then i have checked my OUTQ , it was in *WRKSTN, which is the Printer for my Client.So when i compile it was going to their Printer. I asked them to change it to a dummy printer… They have changed it to PRT01, even after that i am not able to see my Spoolfiles.Please help what could be the issue, what else i need to change still….

Problem with Barcode for AS400

Hi Srs, Im an AS400 developer currently having problems with a Report that contains barcode generated via AS400. I’ve generated a barcode in RPG and is working fine in 7 of the 9 printers that the enterprise where I work has (The report prints fine) , the problem is that in those 2 remaining printers, the report is generating in a wrong way, it’s changing the lay out of the report (doing things like overlaping one line of the report with another for example).

I want to know if the problem can be with the printers (as they have a different congif) or if I can do something (in the RPG code) to keep a printing standar of the reports in every printer.

AS 400 printer file shading of record format

How do I shade (excel style) a whole record format within a printerfile?
The record format may appear many times on a page and of course on different lines. Should I create an overlay, if so, how do I create the overlay to print in variable positions?
I am using RPG to produce the report on an AS 400.
