Displaying amount field in query 400.

In query400, i created a report which will be downloaded to excel. If i download report, it is showing amount fields without decimal values.

How to display amount fields with decimal fields using query400?

I run a query in query/400 and tried to download that file using IBM Iseries. in the downloaded file, the column headers are in field ids and not the descriptions i have given in Query/400 report column formatting. Is there any way to download a file with column descriptions given in query? Please suggest.

We have used a generic user ID for our support persons to sign on to a data center. Due to audit requirements we were forced to elimiate the Generic User. Many queries were created over the years for customers and were saved with *CHANGE auhority instead of *ALL. Now that the generic user is no longer capable of interactive sign on, all queries owned by that ID saved without *ALL authority cannot be saved after modification by other user IDs. What would be suggested to alter existing queries from *CHANGE to *ALL owned by a user that is no longer available.

Is there a way to create a query that gives you a report with an average price, but does not include the zero prices in the count of the average? Those “zero price records” must be included in the report for other info.

i know the name of a query, but not the name of the library it was stored in. company is large and libraries are many — is there a simple way to find this query and which library it is in?

Query 400 – Problem appending data from 1 file to another.

In Query 400 i am trying to append File B to File A. (5=Add to member).

Each time i run the 2nd query for File B it gives me “Query output definition does not match file in ”. I notice that file A is of Type CHAR and file B is of Type ZONED. Would this prevent an append from taking place?

I have given the File field descriptions below and also the Define Result fields for File B.

Can you tell me what criteria in the define result fields display may work to allow an append. Regards, John.

API or procedure to print layout of spool file in app program

Hi all,

I stuck in one of the procedure where I am selecting one file and their fields,on next screen function should availble for user to see the layout of spool file for selected filed.

Please share if there is any api or procedure I can call from this screen.

Best way to retrieve values, SQL or Queries and how?

Hello everybody,

my problem is, in a iseries i have ia file and in this file exist one field with 10000 lenght (character) and i want retrieve a value like ( 60F: ) but i don´t know in what position, after i find this value i need the follow values.

ex: this is a part of one record

{4: :20:EXT/021009/00007 :28C:00140/001 :60F:C021007EUR311792,64 :61:0210071008D350,NMSC66182

i hope anyone help me, give me an idea or example how i visualize this values.

Finding Files used by Query/400

Somewhere I know I had notes and maybe code to do this, but the clock is ticking, so does anyone have the way to extract what files are being used in exisiting (old!) queries – *QRYDFN type

I have an extract utility written, but it’s old stuff, and iteratively prints and reads the output.

this updates the ‘last used’ date of course, so then going back to see what hasn’t been used and delete it would no longer work.

Isn’t there an API that does this??
