Problem with Barcode for AS400

Hi Srs, Im an AS400 developer currently having problems with a Report that contains barcode generated via AS400. I’ve generated a barcode in RPG and is working fine in 7 of the 9 printers that the enterprise where I work has (The report prints fine) , the problem is that in those 2 remaining printers, the report is generating in a wrong way, it’s changing the lay out of the report (doing things like overlaping one line of the report with another for example).

I want to know if the problem can be with the printers (as they have a different congif) or if I can do something (in the RPG code) to keep a printing standar of the reports in every printer.

Favorite printer in AS 400 environment

Just curious if anyone has a fav printer in the AS-400 world. The HP4200 / 4250 has worked well for us and unfortunately can no longer buy new. Suggestions?

Hi I need help on AS400. I have jobs that go directly to pinters, ie invoices that have set paramaters for printing. There are also audit printfiles that go but this means realigning each time a different type of job is sent to the pinter q. Is there any way that I can send the audits to “*qprint” permanently with out changing the invoice print which goes to the *user printq?. Help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

I have made a printer available but once
I try to start it, I get a message waiting. It shows the following:-

Message: Hardware failure on device
PRT02

Cause: File QPSPLPRT in library QSYS for
job 360092/QSPLJOB/PRT02 is being processed. The device must be made ready
before an active job will give up control of the device.

I do not understand what the ‘Cause’ is
trying to say.
Please help me.

Hi,

I have a fault with my AS400. Current setup includes 4 twinax consoles connected to 4 twinax printers. I’m having a problem with PRT02. It suddenly stopped printing. The device status shows ‘Powered off or not available’. I tried to ‘Start’ the device under the Work with Printers menu but I get a message waiting with error code CPA3387 – ‘device is not powered on or varied on or in use by another job’.

Under Display device description, the printer settings match all other existing printers on the system EXCEPT the ‘Allocated to’ section which shows

Job Name: QSYSARB

User: QSYS

Instead of

Job Name: PRT01 (or PRT03 or PRT04)

User: QSPLJOB

I’ve deleted the device PRT02 in an attempt for the system to auto-config but this failed so I manually configured the device to its original setting. Please note that I did not restart the machine after deleting the device. Is this needed in order for the machine to Auto-config the printer?

Right now I don’t understand why the printer stopped working and why I can’t start the device again.

Any advice will be appreciated.
