If a backup tape is expired, does it still contain data? If so, how can you restore or recover the data? Thanks in advance for your help.

AS/400 Daily Backup taking more time to complete

SAVCHGOBJ job taking around 3 hours to complete, earlier it was taking only 30 minutes. when i check the job lock i found OBJECT-Q04079N061, LIBRARY-QSPL, OBJECTTYPE-FILE PHY, MEMBERLOCK-YEY, is there anything to check to analyze the problem Please advice for taking the necessary steps Thanks in advance.

Error Msg Clean Tape in AS/400 backup

Our backup is failing due to an error message that states we need to clean TAP01. We used a tape cleaner, also tried a solvent on swabs, tried a brand new tape and still get the error message. Any suggestions?

QINTER will not go down due to keyboard error

We shut down QINTER at 3:30 AM to do a quick backup. We have 5.4. When someone leaves a terminal or PC session on with a keyboard error (last night was an “invalid F key pressed”) QINTER will not go down all the way! It sits there until the session is physically terminated at the device. Anyone else see this and/or solve it?

Help!! I had a damaged physical file and deleted it and its dependent logical files. I tried to restore the objects but I get a file mismatch error and it won’t restore. I have the backup of the library but can’t get my objects to restore. I even tried restoring the entire library and everything restored except the files I had deleted. Please help!!! AS400 iseries
