Can you tell me the problem with my AS/400 Model 9404. The display reads 11 2508 0B10 and the System Attention Light is on. Each Time I turn it on it stops at this point. The hard drives are running. Thank you. Rob

Hello there, We still have an old S10 system, on V5R2, for DEV users and unfortunately no more support. Now we have a damaged QSYS object, *SVRPGM, Q2CIO, that we cannot even execute a command. We tried doing an IPL but then we got SRC code B9003E30. Does anyone know how to recover from this code so we can continue to bring up system? Somehow we need this system until we migrate 3 months from now to a 570 partition.

I am tring with Hosname/IP both but it is showing ‘Not able to login kindly reconnect’.

Lost AS/400 Library?

I run PRTDSKINF and under Library Information, i found PVB062409B (save library) owner is defined as *SECADM.

I tried to search the library using WRKLIB PVB062409B but no library exist.

My question is how come the library exist on PRTDSKINF? where can i find it? is this hidden library?

Locking in AS400

Good day,
I hava a process in as400 system that locks if 2 users enter the application at the same time.
I thought that once it is out of System-36 and becomes ILE Cobol, locking would be resolved. I was wrong.
This is what it does:
1. File is read and data presented on screen (database file).
2. User can add a record to database file or change record.

Even when the screen is presented for the first time (that is no update is yet taking place) if the second user enters the same screen, he/she will be locked.
I have a “read with no lock” coded in the program.

What should I do to avoid locks?

I am new in AS/400 Administration so I wanna learn more things. Please suggest me how I will be able to login on the system if my QSECOFR password lost.

Also please suggest me the books which are available online to learn about LPAR,OS upgradation and AS/400 performance monitoring and resolving issues.

Anticipating active co-operation in this regard.
