How can i release the lock on a AS/400 file
I want to clear one file. But the message says that it is under use. The lock is under my profile but I am not using the file at that point of time. As of now I am killing the session and releasing the file. Have any one experienced this before? Can any body help [...]

Users mapping a network drive to the iSeries getting disabled all too often
What is the best way to map a network drive to an iSeries so that the user password does not have to match the PC password as it often gets disabled due to the user changing the network password when both IDs are the same?

Two weekends ago I upgraded our i520 from OS V5R3M0 to V5R4M0 and ever since we have had problems with user profiles becoming disabled. These are not because of incorrect password either, as many users are ones who use the system daily and have had no previouse issues with passwords.

how do i find a program which is a backdoor which allows user to change his authority to qsecofr or *secadm? We have changed his profile and he keeps changing it back. And yes we have changed the security officer password numerous times.
