I need a macro that will copy information from the center of the AS400 screen, page down, copy information in the exact same location, page down, repeating the process for about 20 pages. The information starts at Row 12/Col 006 and stops at Row 20/Col 080. Because of serious cuts, I have been waiting 3 weeks to even talk with someone from IT. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Currently We are getting a Report on Monthly Basis using Macro script which runs manually on next day to monthend. Now, We have requirement for generating the Report on Monthend Date itself as part of over night process. Is there anyway to automate the Macro Scripts in AS400. Please suggest.

Macro kill 5250 Emulator

When I run a macro, it kills the 5250 emulation window. The session is still run on the AS400 but the window in Client Access is gone.

I want to create macros for 2 reasons

1. Testing – use a file as input run menu options to test that nothing has been broken ie Customer Master Entry screen needs 5 pieces of information and populates this information into 3 or 4 back ground files. If I could input the 5 fields from a file in a macro I could test this process each time a change is made

2. Conversion – If I need to load 100 new customers from another system, load the 5 fields into my file , run the macro , this will create the new master records.

I am currently doing the conversion by loading the files via CA/File Transfer – while this works , it gets complicated when you have to hit so many files and also you dont have the validation that the screen input fields would have, ie if the macro called existing input program all the valiadtion would be in place. This would mean user would need to monitor but that would only be for the exceptions.

Any feed back would be appreciated – I have seen this done once before about 10 years ago, but noone in my team has the details on how this was done.
