CL script required for tape automation process

Hi All,

allocated with LT04 tape unit in the physical 3584 tape library.

The following scenarios to test:
• Tape properly loaded
• Improperly loaded
• No tape
• Incorrect Category
• Aborted, try to restart.

CL script required for tape automation process to check the above 5 scenarios. Any help will be appreciated.

Printing Electronic Signature that is Printer Resident

HELP!!! I am trying to print an electronic signature that is printer resident on an HP printer attached trough the LAN. I have the PCL Escape sequence from the manufacturer. So far, I have retrieved the WSCST source, modified it to include an INDFNTE tage with a unique font id (used to passs the PCL Escape sequence to the printer). The printer file is AFPDS with an overlay.

We have SQL on our Data Warehouse written using SHOWCASE. The SQL could be better, it is not SO bad for something writen with a drag and drop gui, but the execution is far too slow – 12 minutes to extract data from the main 3.5 million record file, with several left outer joins.

So, we created indexes on the files, including one on a date (‘yyyymm’, character) field on the main file which was the primary WHERE selection – WHERE MYDATE = ’201103′. According to performance information collected, the query used the index, which should have restricted the selection to roughly one-twelfth of the records. But there was no speed increase whatsoever, and it looked as if all records in the main file were still read.

Pool stats seem fine, DB faults in the run were 2.3 for 2721 pages. The ‘classic’ (slow) SQL engine is not being used, we have prohibited DDS-created logical files. Why is there no effect when valid indexes are created? How can we speed up the runs?

We do intend to look at flattening the data, splitting the big file, other physical rearrangements – but why are indexes not giving any improvement?

AS/400 Display Files Not Retaining Last Window

So I have used this “dummy record many times before. Now with a new program/dds it will not.. Could it be b/c my new program is defined DSPSIZ(27 132 *DS4) and the program calling the new programs display size is DSPSIZ(24 80 *DS3)…

i need the calling program 80 column screen to stay while I call the 132 program screen.

So is this the problem and is there anyway around it? Please help ASAP.

AS400 Logical files

I have added a data member to the physical file. But the in logical file it is not accessing the newly added data member. Could any one help me, what should i need to do to access the new data member data through logical file without compiling the logical file?

adding field on screen DSPF

Hi, i added a new field on the screen, declared the variable just like a similar one present in the screen. now I am changing the COBOL program of the same screen. I used the same variable to move value into it. As test I and to check whether issue is with how i have declared the variable in dspf I am moving value of another similar field (phone number). did the changes compiled the dspf first and then the COBOL. and while calling and running the screens I could see the constant fields i have added but the field is coming as blank. question is: can any1 pls tell me how the variables in the dspf screen file is getting linked to the COBOL. I tried tracing other fields used and it doesn’t seems to be any different. so while introducing a new field to the screen, how is that get linked to the COBOL pgm feeding values to that same screen ??
