How can I find out what tape was used in a previous backup? TS3100 2-12 mags
SAVSAVFDTA size of 2,147,483,647
We do savf of our libraries nitely and then we do a savsavfdta to tape in the morning. The log created of the savfs going to tape shows a few libraries showing the same size number of 2,147,483,647. Can someone please explain why? Are there limitations for savfs? PLEASE HELP! Thanks, JAC

I am working on an iseries 520 v5r4m0. Our tape backup is not reliable. So I would like to backup to CD or DVD. Could you tell me what hardware I need to do this? And could it be used with the current IBM backup software.

Backup AS400 to external NAS drive.
We have recently purchased a StoreVault S500 NAS drive and would like our AS400 to backup directly to this. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how we go about doing it.

Isn’t it possible to wrap the commands issued via GO SAVE option 21 in a CLP and run it via job scheduled entry, assuming proper authority, etc.?

Backup SQL database with BRMS AS400
Running BRMS on i520 v5r4 LTO 4 tape library. Company just installed on seperate machines, same network: Windows2003 Server with MSSQL Database. I want to use BRMS and our robust LTO library system to get to the data on the SQL Database. Have little success with the LTO 4 being supported by Microsoft. Any suggestions?

File not restore
I rstlib from tape. Some of the files restore, some do not, Message say it is damaged. Load another tape from same facility and same messages. ALso get problem form another facility. Some I do not. I have accedentally deleted the source member(FFLL24) of my printer file. Can we restore the deleted member of a file? Ex: LIB1/QDDSSRC/FFLL24. Lib1 is my library QDDSSRC is my source file FFLL24 source member.
