AS/400 Tape Device is not avilable
Our tape drive has been issuing error messages. Last week it required cleaning and we found one new tape to be defective. Today’s error indicates t he tape drive is not available because another task is using the tape drive. This is not the case, any fixes out there?

AS/400 Daily Backup taking more time to complete
SAVCHGOBJ job taking around 3 hours to complete, earlier it was taking only 30 minutes. when i check the job lock i found OBJECT-Q04079N061, LIBRARY-QSPL, OBJECTTYPE-FILE PHY, MEMBERLOCK-YEY, is there anything to check to analyze the problem Please advice for taking the necessary steps Thanks in advance.

Error Msg Clean Tape in AS/400 backup
Our backup is failing due to an error message that states we need to clean TAP01. We used a tape cleaner, also tried a solvent on swabs, tried a brand new tape and still get the error message. Any suggestions?

How to take the backup with reducing time

AS/400 backup running twice as long
This week both the SAVCHG and the full sys backup ran twice as long. There were no locked objects or other jobs running and no significant increase is disk capacity used. Any ideas what might cause this or how to even determine why? I did review the log and found no errors. thanks

QINTER will not go down due to keyboard error
