ESX luns allocated on Symmetrix will not format.
Recently we allocated Symmetrix space for an ESX cluster. Some of the LUNs format fine but one or two come up with an error message that says "unable to read partition information from this disk." All of the luns were exactly the same capacity. The ESX is currently attached to a Symmetrix array as...

Disk in Array is not recognized RAID 5 configuration
I have a Highpoint ATA 454 RAID controller set up in a RAID 5 configuration with 4 disk. One of the disks in the in array is no longer recognized as a member because of one bad block. How can I "unmark" this disk as defective, and force it as a member of the array?

SAN questions - SAN array sizing
1. SAN: Can it support multiple concurrent accesses? 2. What are the trade-off's between SAN array size and number of concurrent indexer processes (take note indexers will be constantly polling, renaming and deleting files) if i am creating an indexer? 3. SAN: Upon scaling are there any potential...

ILE RPG call to ILE COBOL passing large array
Our RPG program calls the COBOL program with a large linkage made up of an external file record format occurring 999 times. The COBOL program loads 121 of the occurrences with data. The RPG program, however, appears to start processing with the following occurrence 122 even though the COUNT index...
