Hello Everyone,

Here’s the situation:
two iSeries boxes – Dev and Prod both V5R4M0

We’re using AJAX to dynamically load content using a tabbed based navigation using this code:

http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex17/ajaxtabscontent/index.htm

We have no issues loading information on our Dev box. There’s definitely less information to be loaded here, but, we have a test environment on out Prod box that mimics our Dev box. The Prod test environment isn’t working correctly either.

It seems to happen only for some users, even though they go into the exact same page. (We tried going in as QSECOFR with full access and it gets the issue).

Here’s an example situation:
A user logs in and gets a list of information. They can use the tabs to filter that information bases on a status: completed, incomplete, etc…

As you tab through the different statuses, the AJAX calls code that grabs that information and stores it in our container.

Sometimes when you click a tab, IE 8 crashes completely. I don’t receive any javascript errors or code errors in the language we use (NET.DATA).

This doesn’t happen on our Dev box. Are there any settings I can compare on our boxes that will give us an idea about what’s different?

If you need more information, let me know. I know this entire post was a little wordy and confusing. If you saw our situation, you’d be just confused as us.

Thanks,
Dave

Do I need to create a binding directory first? Am I using the wrong compile command? Any guesses?

AJAX sample I am trying to compile: http://www.itjungle.com/fhg/fhg111908-story01.html

I keep trying to knuckle-down on this project, but keep getting dragged away in twenty different directions, so I realize that I may be just overlooking something simple that I really should know already… So, I really appreciate any guidance you can give me to help me get the ball rolling! Thanks so much!

Hi all,

we are developing a VB.net 2.0 job portal. Sql 2005 is at the rear. It has some related DD lists and we have emplted Ajax for filling up the child controls. The cacading DDL were avoided as our server(maximumasp) is havving some issue with web services.

The DDL is bound to corresponding datatable objects. each of these dt is populated from a cache object. First the data is loaded to cache at page load and then further data retrieval is from this cache.

the trouble now is that these DDLs are running extremely slow at the production server. the same code is performing very well at the development server, even when the database used is remote.

I tried with uncompiled and compiled code locally and remotely in three different servers ! the results are always same –

any idea what is happening?

Help me !
