How to capture CPU utilization efficiently in various Unix m/c’s?
We need to capture CPU utilization while load run of our testing in different environments (solaris, Linux, AIX) with single or multi cpu’s. In Solaris, presently we are capturing CPU utlization using prstat. In Linux there are many commands like vmstat, mpstat, top, sar etc. Which is the best and reliable command?

FTP SSL AIX to Z/os
I have set up FTP as SECURE ALLOWED on Z/os. I want to test an FTP from AIX and have it use SSL. How do I get it to read ‘override’ parameters of my FTP stack. i.e., the ‘userid.FTP.DATA’ file? Is there anyway to do that?

I have DB2 version 8.2 installed in AIX one thing I am seeing is strange that optimizer not using any indexes. In any simple join index are not being used. Is there any parameter which needs to be set up?

hello – How can I report “current” CPU utilization for a given process on UNIX (AIX)? using ps -ef and grepping the process name and awking the C column (CPU Time) reports CPU util since boot – not current. Thanks!
