HELP!!! I am trying to print an electronic signature that is printer resident on an HP printer attached trough the LAN. I have the PCL Escape sequence from the manufacturer. So far, I have retrieved the WSCST source, modified it to include an INDFNTE tage with a unique font id (used to passs the PCL Escape sequence to the printer). The printer file is AFPDS with an overlay.

What do I need to code in the DDS?

Is it possible and what is the easiest way to get an *AFPDS spool file to a remote non iSeries system to be printed. Other than as a PDF, I know that will work.

Copy spool file in AFPDS to IFS stream as AFP.

Is any possible way to convert a SCS spool entry into an AFPDS spool file with all the refernece fonts being embedded into .RSC file?

And if is really the case, can we identify the fonts which is being used by SCS spool entry and export those fonts being used in other ways (e.g. exported as an .fnt file)?

Barcode problems on IPDS laser printer connected to iSeries

I have an *AFPDS spool file with a vertical barcode. The program and printer file have not changed and were working correctly previously. Data still prints correctly on a network printer, but the barcode is printed in an incorrect position (overlaying other data) when printed on an HP LaserJet 1100 printer connected to a PC workstation with Personal Communications 5.7. Apparently something in PComm has changed. Does anyone know how to correct this?

I created an AFPDS printer file in DDS using the Goudy font, fgid 4919. This is a variable width font. I used the underline dds keyword and find that the underline extends beyond the printed characters. Is there a way to control the underline?

AFPDS w/overlay is not WYSIWYG

When printing a *AFPDS spool file with an overlay, variable text data print differently than they display with the AFP Workbench Viewer and will not align properly. Overlay is fine, but text data is all over the page. Using Helvetica 9pt. and printing to a HP8150N printer. What am I missing?

Hi Folks,

Hopefully someone can help me.

I am trying to implement the infoprint server to convert to PDF bring in a dynamic image with the AFPRSC and print to an infoprint printer.

The conversion works nice and I can see the PDF in the IFS and it brings in the images in nicely however when I send it to the printer it is just printing a mess of characters

ie %ICDS2PDF Version 1 Revision 21 %IBMPSC100 \@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

etc etc

The spool file is type *USERASCII should this be able to print to an infoprint?

I have tried to repsool the file as an AFS but my dynamic images do not come in.

Any help appreciated

Howdo I incorporate .bmp images into i5 printer/spool file?

We use overlays with static images(logo), but I need to include a .bmp image into a spool file based on link data (on the iseries) that points to a .bmp file on the IFS. Really don’t want to recreate the wheel by making page segments out of these images (there are many of them), and not having any luck sith AFPRSC keyword. Any ideas?
