MS Access 2007 Date Query Question

My question is 2 parts:

1) I need to build a query that will look for dates in a date field that are >= 4 1/2 years from a date specified by the user. For example, if the user enters Sep 2011 the query would return all records in the database that are 4 1/2 years older than the specified date (i.e. Mar 2007). There is another date field if the record meets the query criteria but the 2nd date field is populated then the record will not be returned.

2) How do I format the input request from the user to ensure Access understands what to compare with the Inv_Date field?

The query results would be in a new colum title Investigation Due.

OLE field in UNION query

I need to join 2 tables, each with a field with an OLE object data type, in a UNION query in MS Access, but I get the message that an OLE field cannot be used in the Select clause of a union query. Does anyone know a work-around?

Access 2007 Query Help

I need some type of statement that will check my query results for a number in a field and then remove any instance of this item from my query. Example: I have multiple books in a table and I have an identifier field (1 = English, 2 = History, 3 = Science, etc…) where it can cause one book to have multiple options. So this example book (3456) is listed twice because it includes Science and History. I would like a statement that checks for any books that are listed under History to be removed altogether, including the Science line. Any help would be much appreciated.

Access 2010 database query

I am new to Access and am having some trouble writing a query, for an absentee database. I only have two tables, one for the roster and the other with the absentee logs. The Roster table only has employee name, badge number, and shift. The Attendance Log table has the date of occurrence, the employee badge number, points accumulated (either 0.5 or 1), reason, and comments. Apart from the point values I would like to add the disciplinary level, which is as such,• Level 1 – Oral Warning (2 points within thirty (30) days) • Level 2 – Written Warning (1 point within thirty (30) days of Step 1) • Level 3 – Three (3) Day Suspension (1 point within thirty (30) days of Step 2) • Level 4 – Dismissal (1 point within thirty (30) days of Step 3) But also, 30 days goes by and no point has occurred than it reverts back to the previous level. I would like to write a query that calculates and assigns the disciplinary levels, but am not sure how to go about it. I need someone to point me in the right direction. I have imported a 2007 excle spread sheet. There are mutible columns that have date information. I need two types of gueries. First query to look at one column and only list records that have todays date, previous dates and dates through 7 days in the future. the query also need to reference a 2nd column and only allow the records that do not have a date at all. Example: column A date is 6/3/11 and there is no date in column B = list record. Second query should list record is a date is in column C and no date in column D

AS/400 via Access, update query

Hi all

my db is on as/400 and i use ms access to run queries.
however, whenever i try to run an update query i receive the following error message:

“[IBM][ISeries Access ODBC Driver][DB2 UDB]SQL7008 – table in library not valid for operation. (#-7008)”

any idea what is missing?

The `CHECKIN`, `CHECKOUT`, `COLUMN_NIMBER` depend on the data in `CHECKTIME` for every user.

Access 2010 macros

I have a macro that 1)starts with a make-table query, 2)opens a report based on the new table, then 3)runs an If statement stating IF [Reports]![Reject Report]!=”NO” THEN EmailDatabaseObject called “Reject Report”. . . My problem is that after the macro completes it locks the table that was made earlier and I cannot run the macro again unless I close the entire database and reload it. (I get a error message saying that the table is locked by another user. Please wait until the other user closes out of the program and try again; or something like that.) There is no one using the database during these tests so I have no idea why the table is staying locked. Do you have any ideas on how to modify the macro to allow it to run consistantly?

Cumulative totals in Access 2003

I need to be able to calculate cumulative totals on groups of data in a query. Specifically I have a list of repair order numbers with associated part numbers required, dates the order was placed and the amount of the part needed for the repair. I need to be able to calculate a running cumulative total of amount required for each group of part numbers sorted by earliest order date to lates order date of the part number. So for part number ABC I need the cumulative running total of amount required, for part number DEF I need the cumulative running total of amount required, etc. with each group of parts sorted by date the order was placed.
