Connect console of 3com switch to PC Laptop through port 25 Up

[u3:p][/u3:p] Create vlans
Add ports to vlans
Set port 1 as trunk and also added as tagged to all vlans

At port 1 i connect my adsl modem router (dhcp enabled).

4500 switch gets 192.168.1.100 as it’s ip

but all other computers can’t get their ip by the dhcp if they are connected
via 4500 switch..[o:p][/o:p]

is there is any problem with connecting cisco with 3com ???

i have 3 com switch and cisco switch and 2 NDs and core switch

the connection like that:

core connect to the 2 NDs

first ND1 connect to cisco switch

second ND2 connect to 3com switch

every switch connect to 2 pcs

(ND1—pc1) (ND2—pc2)

ND1 (vlan1 by default and vlan 172)

nd2 (vlan1 by default and vlan 172)

pc1 connect to vlan 1 (cisco sw)

pc2 connect to vlan 172 (3com sw)

but when i connect the pc1 to vlan 172 (cisco switch )the network
with other switch fail (cant see it and it cant connect to any thing

is there is any problem with connecting cisco with 3com ???

I want to connect Vlans in cisco 3750 with Vlans 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4200,
by using trunking ports in the cisco and 3Com switches.

please some one help me how to configure the trunk port in both switches.

Hi,
I have 2 3COM Gigabit 8 Switches chained with a network cable that connects them.

The problem is that when i want to copy something from a computer connected to Switch 1 to a computer connected into “Switch 2″, the speed never goes over 3 kbs (which is much much slower than when i copy something from 2 computers connected in the same switch).

Is this normal ?
Is there anything that i can do to improve this situation ?

Any help will be much apreciated.

I have a weird ping issue on 3com router, any ideas?

When I ping our main frame relay router, a Netbuilder 227C running SW/NBRO-CF,9.1 firmware. It gets its LAN feed from a Nortel 8100 switch. This problem propagates across the frame relay circuit to the far end router (another 227C running 9.3 firmware) and Nortel 450 switch connected to it. See below ping times. Note that the avg. 3000ms ping response occurs after every 12 normal pings. What could be causing this problem? I’ve run Wireshark on both ends to see what kind of traffic might be causing this issue, but it looks pretty clean except for an SONMP (Nortel Discovery Protocol) broadcast every 10 seconds from the Nortel switch, which could just be coincidental…

How do I setup DHCP on a 3Com router on a frame relay?

In our network we have a frame relay LAN, using two 3COM NetbuilderII 227C routers. The head end router runs 9.1 code, the far end runs 9.3 code. They are both SW/NBRO-CF routers as well. How do we go about enabling and getting DHCP to run on them? What commands do I use to get dhcp traffic to broadcast and get forwarded??

20% packet loss affects performance?

Hi. I’ve been noticed that I have some packet loss when I do ping from our 3Com router 5642 to the default gateway of our provider.

We did the last mile between our provider and us and once I called them because I felt network slow. They told me that could be the packet loss (20%) that make the Internet slow and I should verify this. Is really a 20% of packet loss that ocurrs sometimes, a major problem for our Internet conection??
