 System/Message Management 3rd Party Software
Has anybody evaluated any 3rd party System and or Message management software? Who did you evaluate? Who did you choose? Why? Can anybody provide me with manuals for any 3rd party System/Message Management software? I would like to get hold of some manuals with out contacting any sales departments (I don't have time for their constant follow ups). I am interested in Robot, Byteware, CCSS, and any others that you might know of. Thanks.

Although not using any product at this time as a consultant, I have used Robot Console, it worked fine at the time. Most recently I used Byteware MessengerPlus. Really liked that one, had most everything on multiple systems being monitored, automatically reacting to system issues, sending emails, pager messages, etc. I would use that one again.

Another one is iConga. iConga allows you to receive messages from the iSeries to any email device including e-mail enabled cell phones and then be able to reply back via email from that device to answer the message. There is no tier or processor based pricing, and can run in multiple LPARS at no extras charge. Also comes with a 30 day free trial.

Have a look at Revsoft or Halcyon. I like Revsoft in a multi partition system as they charge by site rather than partition. A lot cheaper.
