I have worked with ghost 2003 before. I was trying to get the newer version, I assume 14?. Some how in the office they ordered "Symantec Ghost Solution Suite 2.5! I am looking at this thing and it talks about deploying Windows Vista and stuff. That's not what I am trying to do though. I just have a very basic need. Backup (ghost) XP machines and SQL servers. Be able to restore image on affected machine when needed. I only have 2 SQL servers and something like 15 xp boxes. My question is: Will this "Symantec Ghost Solution Suite 2.5" do this for me. Or should I return it and try to get "ghost ver. 14"? Does it have the ability to image servers, beside desktops? My plan is to create ghost images that will be stored on a network drive. In the older day, I had to use a network boot disk to restore a machine. I am assuming the new ghost software can restore without using a boot disk? Thanks,

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

According to the official Symantec Ghost Solution Suite site, it can do that, and much more.

They talk about vista because they wanted to emphasize that the product was fully compatible with Windows Vista.

The best thing to know about the features of Symantec Ghost software is to read all its features on its labels. However, you can also perform you self research on the internet and carefully read all its features. Basically, the later the version of any software, the better and more its features.
