Our company has just partnered with Symantec and being new to their products, I'm finding myself a bit overwhelmed. Are there any websites that offer mailing lists or online forums that can help with some of the issues I'm running into? This seems like an interesting concept for user-to-user support, but it's not the friendliest of interfaces. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Here’s my list of favorites:

1. www.Boardfish.com
2. www.Castlecops.com
3. www.Tek-tips.com

Of the three, Boardfish.com is the only one dedicated to the Symantec product line. It’s new, but is getting a lot of attention from the media since Symantec closed their forums.

There are several things one need to regognise about Symantec, though I love their Ghost Image 9 (the best in its class and very fast IMHO). - It is a resorse hog - It fails routinely at detections and 'exploits'. - It is a nightmare to uninstall completely and correctly. 'Tis a nighmare in the registry. Just some other things to consider about Symantic in general, for now and perhaps down the road. Best of luck to you.. Terry

There are several groups on Yahoo Groups that you could join discussing various Symantec products. That way you can be a bit more targeted in what you'd like to cover. The unfortunate aspect is that your company is using Symantec products. There hasn't been a good product that Symantec has bought that they have been able to ruin. We have just purchased our last upgrade for Veritas Backup Exec, and will be looking for another backup solution the next go round on backup software. We gave up on the A/V software a long time ago because of problems with it including machines not booting to virus infections not found. Join the groups that cover the products you are using, and hopefully, you'll be able to get the help you need to get around the obstacles that will be in your way to running a productive network. (Oh yeah, don't forget the rootkits they have been installing with at least one product.) Steve
