Has it worked previously for this PC or is this a new development?
ya it was working previously untill that client pc got virus,it was unable to do a scan for virus, now it is clean but still showing that missing defiiniton on the symantec console
besides, a popup box saying that the pc is infected with spywares,is still coming up
rRn malwarebytes (malwarebytes.org) on the infected PC. ( Free and easy product to use)The pop up that comes up is a sign of malware. Unfortunately, Symantecs is not the best product we are finding out, for spyware issues. After that is run and cleans your issues, you should be able to update your AV.. We have had this happen many times. due to spyware hosing up the dat updates. We run v10.1 and will probably be looking for something newer this next year.
hope this helps.
what i can understand with your problem, Antivirus server cannot able to connect to its clients right? now tel me if it is able to ping the system?
That error occurs only when it is not able to communicate with the system like the client is not in the network or their is some network issues, i will be suprised if any virus or spyware is stopping it from doing that..
