Switching off Instant Messaging Log On window.
Hello!! Recently all of my users after loging to Lotus Notes are asked for logging to IM (which is not used in our organization). I know that I can switch it off in a location document, but it's really time consuming ... I've checked policy/settings documents (no path to a Sametime server) and server document (Is this a Sametime server=No). What could cause this logging window appears? How switch it off? BR Bartosz.

Answer Wiki:
This is turned on by default on dring the client install. The only way to turn it off is at each client at this point in time. I too hope that they will add it to the policies so that it can be globally set. There is an option when the dialog appears to not sign into an instan messaging server. If your users can follow instructions then you may be able to have them click the correct box to disable it. Hope this helps

One way to remove the IM logon window is to edit the Notes.ini file. I don’t know if you can do this at the server level though…but if you remove all but the first 4 lines of your Notes.ini file on the workstations that get the IM log on window, the next time the users launch Notes, the client will ask to reconfigure, and you can set the IM to “manually” launch. Hope this helps.
