When switching from DSL to Cable Internet... when you have a router w/VPN & Firewall and a static IP - how do you switch the service? Obviously just plugging the new service provider in won't work. I know you need the log in and password to the router but after that?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

If you are going to change from DSL to Cable, you will not be able to keep the Static IP addresses you currently have.
The Router will have to be reconfigured to accept the new IP Address and Subnet that is being passed to it.
What router are you using? that is the question.

Is this a home router with a VPN to your office? What type of router are you using?
