As you mentioned you have two years mainframe experience, to some extent this knowledge can help you to learn Informatica. You try to learn one of the tools of Informatica like powercenter. Learning new technologies is always an add on thing for any professional and it will help to get better job than current one. It all depends on what long term career path you are looking at. What type of mainframe environment did you work in?  What areas do you currently have real world experience?

One more thing, is it sponsored by your company only, or you will do this course by your own money? Whatever it is, always try to admit yourself in a good/reputed institution, where you can get solid knowledge that helps to crack interviews.

Thank you all for your replies. My company is not sponsoring for the course. I am confused whether I can do the Informatica course in udemy or in any institution. I don't know which one is valid to add in the resume and to get the job opportunities.

It's tough to say. Some places will take a certification from anywhere while other want it from a highly recognized institution rather than on-line. If in doubt, I'd go with an institution if it's affordable.

Yes, no doubt, go for institution and of course reputed/ renowned. Almost all companies want certificates from renowned institutions and it will help to win the race half a way. However solid knowledge is obviously a great thing that helps to crack interviews easily.

Of course it is good. Whatever knowledge you get it always gives an added advantage. While your company offers, don't think just join. This is one of the Sap module that basically a reporting tool and so on. Please link here for more info: http://searchsap.techtarget.com/definition/SAP-BusinessObjects-BI

Any chance you get to learn something at work is good. The experience is "real world" v. classroom. IT may look better on a resume. The other bonus, is your company thinks you are up to the task and is giving you more responsibility.

If that course does not help you right now, perhaps it will help you in future and if you try to change your company that learning help you to crack the interviews. So, don't thinks twice and join immediately.
