 switch device to library mode
AS/400 Library, V6R1
Problem:  Library device TAPMLB01 is not in library mode. Recovery  Switch library device TAPMLB01 to library mode and retry the      Any have an idea how to do the switch?

BRMS as400 v6r1

The LDR mode is probably AUTOMATIC right now and I believe it should be RANDOM. From the tape drive you need to go Off-Line, Configuration, then LDR Mode needs to be changed to RANDOM You may also need to Loop and Autoload modes to OFF Loop Mode needs to be OFF Autoload Mode needs to be OFF Voodoo --------------------------------------------

Just take the tape drive off line and reboot it. Worked for me!
