Hi, I have one year experience in budget analysis, in which I deal with expenses forecast, and annual budgeting. I got my bachelor degree in finance in 2015, worked for a year, and came back to Master in Business Intelligence in 2016. I basically have only working experience with Excel (advanced, selt-taught VBA). I am doing GA at school on research on student success, in which we conduct survey and analyze input from students for improvement in campus resources to support students in passing bottle neck courses. Hence, I am knowledgeable in statistical methods, regression analysis, ANOVA, cluster analysis, probability. I also currently take MOOC courses, including Coursera Data Science's Tool Box, R Programming; and volunteering in implementing Salesforce.com for a startup. I am very worried if looking for jobs in business analytics without any IT working experience is worth a shot. I am looking forward to your reply. Thank you so much.

Whatever you asked, this must helps to gain you an added advantage. While currently you are learning some kind of open source program like R programming. Which is a part of data analysis/ research etc. When you completed, hopefully, you will get a chance to work under environment of IT/based on your knowledge. So, it is not so important to work exclusively in IT field to gather your experience. For your good information, if possible, you can try for certified software business analyst course.
